I’ve heard somewhere that our families shape and mold us. I definitely believe that you won’t fully know a person until you meet their family and see them interact within that social structure. That being said, here is my family
My mom and dad, commonly known as Ellen and Larry, are incredible. They have raised a bunch of crazy Perry’s and have done a great job at it. I mean, they have put up with me all of these years and haven’t killed me yet which is a feat in and of itself.

You could say I am a daddies girl. My dad is such a fun guy but is also so caring and loving with all of us. We joke about it but he truly is one of the most patient people I know. He absolutely loves the outdoors and is still active in boy scouts/venturing and is regularly leading some sort of epic adventure…

While you could say my dad is the ‘thinker’ of the family, my mom might be considered ‘the spaz.’ Now, now, let me explain myself. My mom is seriously ridiculous. We usually catch her saying some of the weirdest/funniest things and at times can be found doing somethin just…crazy. While we all have some hilarious memories of mom, and regularly bring them back, she is such a great mom. She has always taken care of us. It has been a blast living with this crazy woman who seems to know everyone and is definitely loved by those whom she knows.

The oldest in my family is Amanda, who is 33. She has 3 boys, 1 little girl and a husband, Scott. Henry (8), Pierce (6), Elliott (3), and Lorraine (2). They live a block away from my home, in Texas, and I love having them so close. Scott is such a great dad and brother-in-law. He and I had a hard time in the beginning of our relationship, when i was but a mere 7 years old. However, as I have attempted to grow up, and hopefully matured some, he and I have developed our relationship–alot. I love Scott and value his opinion, a lot. He currently works at The Village Church and absolutely adores it…

Next, is Brent who just turned 32. He has quite the ‘blended’ family. He had Brenton (11) by a previous marriage and he and his wife, Crystal, had one child together-Kaneo(6). Crystal had two children by previous marriages, Thomas (18) and Nicole (11). Brent is in the Air Force and is currently stationed in New Mexico.

Third, is Stephen who was 22 and a half when he passed away this past December 1, 2007. He was my handicapped brother. He was born perfectly normal until at 6 months of age developed seizures and it kind of spiraled down from there. Medically speaking, they couldn’t determine what triggered his seizures in the first place. They think it might be related to immunizations that he received as a baby, but only God knows for sure. He was blind, couldn’t walk or talk, and has the mind capacity of a 2 year old. He always had a great disposition his laugh was so contagious. He is missed greatly in our family but we all are so thankful that he is resting in the arms of our sweet Savior and isn’t bound by his handicapp’s but it made whole.

I am # 4 in the bunch. People generally tell me that I am really outgoing, loud, crazy, and that my biggest form of love is quality time, words of affirmation, and physical touch. I love deep conversations, honesty, theology, loyalty, anything that pertains to being outside, blogs, music, and Jesus–of course! I have a lot of passions and am currently sorting through and trying to discern how the Lord might want to bring them out. I am continuing to learn how sinful I am and how much I am in need of His all sufficient Grace. I am simply a sin-scarred sinner who is walking by faith alongside of her Savior…

Lastly, is William who is 19. He will be a Sophomore at the University of Oklahoma studying nursing. Will has such an amazing story of God’s redemption in His life. He turned away from a life of drugs, alcohol, and things of that life and gave them all up and is relentlessly pursuing Christ. He is such a special guy who has a beautiful heart for others and Africa. I love hanging out with him and doing crazy stuff and he can usually be found playing or writing songs on his guitar…or hanging out with his girl friend
